Homelab
My personal infrastructure lab, where I experiment with Linux, containers, networking, monitoring and remote access.
Why To understand not only how to build an application, but what happens after it leaves my computer.
My personal infrastructure lab, where I experiment with Linux, containers, networking, monitoring and remote access. A place to learn hands-on, test tools and build my own solutions.
Starting point
An old laptop repurposed as a server: low upfront cost, enough hardware for plenty of experiments — and real limits on temperature, storage and power that are part of the learning.
Fronts
- Key-based SSH access, remote desktop and VPN.
- Monitoring the host itself with Grafana and Prometheus.
- Storage, disk health and verifiable backups.
- Future home automation integrations.
